In my new career as a professional mediator, I continue to take a creative and open minded approach to solving complex problems.
This supplement is provided for those interested in marital mediation, family mediation, and senior care.
While I have completed the necessary training to permit me to mediate divorce cases in Texas, I am choosing to apply my skill and training to help couples preserve and improve, rather than to terminate, their commitment.
Regarding Senior Care: I had the experience of caring for my mother when it became necessary for her to move to a nursing home, and was supportive of my wife as she had that experience with her mother. Those experiences led me to become certified by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services as an Ombudsman. I am assigned as a part-time volunteer to a specific nursing home, where I visit twice a week and interact with as many of the residents as possible -- as their friend and advocate.
I have a valuable understanding of the joys and challenges of a blended family. I have learned much in a twenty-year first marriage that blessed me with two children and four grandchildren, and a second marriage that blessed me with three stepchildren and four step grandchildren. My wife and I celebrated our twenty-seventh anniversary in 2008 and are looking forward to many more.
